Who is behind AI Campus?

My name is Brandon Leigh. I am a former FTSE 250 Chief Financial Officer and now Chief Executive.

AI Campus was created because I could not find a single AI course that was clear, practical, and suitable for different audiences — from individuals and families through to organisations.

Many courses are either highly technical or overly complex. Others are expensive and difficult to fit around everyday life.

AI Campus takes a different approach. The course is designed to be accessible, structured, and easy to follow, with short, professionally produced lessons that build understanding step by step.

Each lesson is fully narrated, supported by subtitles, and reinforced with simple quizzes to support learning. With over 100 minutes of content across six modules and 48 lessons, the course provides a comprehensive introduction to artificial intelligence — helping learners build confidence and understand how AI applies in real-world situations.

AI Campus is designed to be one of the most effective and accessible AI courses for beginners, while still delivering a high standard of learning.

Some of the most popular questions on AI which you will cover during the course

What is AI?

Artificial intelligence (AI) refers to computer systems that perform tasks requiring human intelligence, such as understanding language, recognising patterns, and supporting decisions. AI does not think or feel. It uses data and algorithms to predict likely outcomes, making it a powerful tool for everyday life, work, and learning.

Is AI always right?

No, AI is not always right. AI tools can produce useful answers but may also generate incorrect or misleading information, sometimes very confidently. Because AI relies on patterns in data rather than true understanding, outputs should always be checked. Human judgement remains essential when using AI for important decisions or information.

How does AI work and where does it get its information from?

AI systems learn from large datasets that include text, images, and other information gathered during training. They do not access a single source or “know” facts like humans. Instead, they recognise patterns across data. Some AI tools may also use live information, but accuracy still depends on how they are designed.

What is ChatGPT and are there other tools?

ChatGPT is a chat-based AI assistant that can answer questions, write content, and explain ideas. Other AI tools include Claude, Gemini, and Microsoft Copilot. Different tools are designed for writing, research, design, coding, and workplace productivity tasks.

How will AI change the way I work?

AI is changing work by supporting everyday tasks such as writing emails, analysing information, and organising workloads. Rather than replacing jobs, AI is helping people work more efficiently. Human skills like judgement, communication, and decision-making are becoming more important as AI handles routine and repetitive tasks.

Will I lose my job because of AI?

Most jobs are evolving rather than disappearing. AI is more likely to change tasks within roles than replace entire jobs. Some repetitive tasks may reduce, but new opportunities are also emerging. People who understand AI and adapt their skills will be better placed to succeed in an AI-enabled workplace.

Is it ok for children to use AI?

Yes, children can use AI when guided appropriately. AI tools can support learning, creativity, and curiosity. However, children need help understanding that AI is not always accurate and does not think like a human. Parental guidance, boundaries, and open conversations are important for safe and balanced use.

Should my children use AI for homework?

AI can support homework by explaining ideas, checking understanding, and helping with structure. However, it should not replace independent thinking. Children should use AI as a learning aid, not a shortcut. Encouraging them to explain answers and think critically helps ensure AI supports education rather than undermines it.

What does AI help me do best?

AI is best at handling repetitive tasks, analysing large amounts of information, and generating first drafts of content. It can help with writing, planning, summarising, and organising work. AI works most effectively as an assistant, supporting productivity while leaving important decisions and judgement to humans.

Why do I need to be careful when using AI?

AI can produce confident but incorrect information, and it may reflect bias or incomplete data. It also relies on user input, so sharing sensitive information can create risks. Being careful means checking outputs, protecting privacy, and using AI as a support tool rather than relying on it completely.
